FOREWORD

According to Plutarch, Xerxes – the king of Persia – demanded that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae. King Leonidas 1 – king of the Spartans – responded in the most defiant and badass way possible:

“Molon Labe!”

(Greek – Come and take them!)

It is with this warrior spirit in mind, that it was decided to bring to life

AIRSOFT CLUB POTCHEFSTROOM.

Airsoft Club Potchefstroom is a recreational sports club where like minded individuals come together as one and engage in the sport of Airsoft.

Club Motto:

“Omni Honore – Honor is Everything”

WHAT IS AIRSOFT ?

In order for us to define the aim and objectives of this club, one must first understand what the sport of Airsoft is. Hereafter a short explanation of the sport of Airsoft:

“Airsoft is a military simulation sport where players participate in mock combat with authentic military-style weapons and tactics. Airsoft uses 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic. The guns used are full scale replicas of real world weapons.

The guns used can be categorized into three main types: Spring powered, gas (CO2, green gas), and automatic electric guns (AEGs). Spring powered must be hand-cocked every time before shooting. They also shoot a lower velocity than gas or AEG guns. Gas powered guns can use different gases to power them such as CO2 canisters, green gas, or propane. An Automatic Electric Guns is a gun, most often in rifle style, that uses a battery and motor to power the spring mechanism.”

Thus, the aim of ACP is to promote and administer the sport of Airsoft in the Potchefstroom area as a safe, enjoyable and legal sport. ACP shall be taken to be an amateur sporting club and the management of the club will ensure that it is never mistaken for a military, para-military or quasi-military organisation and that it will always remain unaffiliated with any political, religious or social intent or group, beyond the scope of the sport of Airsoft.
